Former London "Arsenal" player Billy Vigar has died at the age of 21 as a result of an accident on the field.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that in the game between "Chichester City" and "Wingate & Finchley", the English football player fell unsuccessfully while trying to keep the ball in play and hit his head on a concrete wall near the edge of the field.
The game was stopped. Medical personnel provided assistance to the football player directly on the field, and then he was urgently taken to the hospital by helicopter. There, the football player was placed in an artificial coma and operated on to increase his chances of survival.
However, due to the severity of the injuries, Billy died of a severe traumatic brain injury on the morning of Thursday, September 25.
"Arsenal" and other clubs where Vigar played during his career have expressed condolences to the football player's family and friends.
Vigar is a graduate of the "Arsenal" club. He played 22 games for the club's U-18 team and 5 games for the U-21 team. He also played on loan for "Derby" and "Eastbourne Borough" and left the London club in 2024.
After leaving the "Gunners", Vigar played for "Hastings United", then moved to "Chichester City", and participated in four games this season, scoring one goal.
