The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the online video platform YouTube have signed an agreement ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that FIFA's press service announced this on the X social media platform.
This partnership will allow broadcasters with the rights to broadcast matches to stream them live on the platform, providing global access to young viewers.
It is emphasized that the World Cup broadcast rights holders will show the first 10 minutes of tournament matches on the platform, thereby encouraging young fans to watch the matches through traditional channels.
In addition, broadcasters will be able to broadcast selected matches in full on their YouTube channels, attracting a global audience and promoting where to watch more games. The amount of the agreement was not disclosed.
