Portuguese specialist Fernandu Santos has commented on his departure from the position of head coach of the Azerbaijan national team. Sport24.az, citing SIC Noticias, reports that Santos also spoke about the plan he prepared for the national team in 2024:
"I cannot fail to thank the AFFA president for the respect and attention he has always shown me. I also thank the people of Azerbaijan for the hospitality and love they have shown me during this time. In September 2024, I presented a comprehensive plan with the necessary adjustments. This plan is similar to other plans I have prepared in my previous jobs. I hope that this project will be useful for AFFA and will allow it to achieve better results in the future, and will serve as an incentive for the necessary investments for the creation and development of new talents. I wish everyone success."
