Portuguese expert Fernando Santos failed to win as head coach of the Azerbaijan national team.
According to "Report", the national team lost 9 of the 11 matches under the leadership of the 70-year-old specialist, and drew 2. The national team, which scored 4 goals, conceded 29 goals.
Santos, who was dismissed today, was appointed to this position on June 12, 2024.
The team first performed unsuccessfully in League C of the UEFA Nations League and dropped to League D. The national team lost both matches to Sweden (1:3, 0:6) and Slovakia (0:2, 1:3). The team, which lost to Estonia in Tallinn (1:3), drew goalless with this team in Gabala.
