Tensions have arisen between "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahçe". Earlier, the press service of the "Galatasaray" club issued a statement claiming that the former president of "Fenerbahçe", Ali Koç, threatened the team's head coach, Okan Buruk. The "yellow-reds" stated that Ali Koç threatened the Turkish specialist by using his influence, and declared that they would not allow such cases and that they stood behind Okan Buruk.
Sport24.az reports that after this post, the "Fenerbahçe" club also issued a statement to the public.
The "yellow-navy blues" stated in their statement that artificial polemics were created around Ali Koç, and stated that they categorically rejected such accusations. The club stated that it is not right to create tension in the Turkish sports community with off-field statements.
"Fenerbahçe" also emphasized in its statement that healthy thinking, responsibility and justice are the main needs of Turkish sports and stated that they are against polemics that bring the public face to face.
