"Every coach has their own football vision and I respect them all."
This was stated by "Neftchi"'s Malian footballer Falaye Sako in an interview with futbolinfo.az after the 3-0 victory over "Karvan-Yevlakh" in the 30th round of the Misli Premier League.
We present that interview.
– Your thoughts on the match where you won 3 points away…
– We knew beforehand that it would be difficult. It is not easy to play on such a pitch. We approach every game like a final and it is very important for us to achieve the maximum result.
– Your head coach noted that the players had great emotions after the game against "Qarabagh". Considering that both sides needed points. How did you prepare for this game?
– Believe me, the opponent's identity and position in the league table do not matter to us. We prepare for every match with the same seriousness. The coaching staff also prepares us in this direction, we analyze the game. Because every match is important. Losing points can cost us dearly. Therefore, we try to take points from everyone, regardless of whether they are at the top or an outsider.
– Before Yuri Vernidub's arrival, many thought that "Neftchi"'s chances of qualifying for the European Cups were over. Now the team is one step away from a European ticket. How would you explain this?
– Every coach has their own football vision and I respect them all. Vernidub came, but that doesn't mean that the previous coach was weak. We continue with the same squad. It's just that, as Samir Abasov said, success was far from us at that time, things were not going as we wanted and we could not achieve results. Vernidub came, made some changes and "Neftchi" achieved success with the same players.
– If "Sabah" wins the national cup, "Neftchi" will have a chance to qualify for the European Cups. Who will you support in the final match to be held at the "Palms Sport Arena"?
– The final will not be easy. Both sides will want to win. We as a team also want "Sabah" to win so that we can finish the season in fourth place and qualify for Europe. Since it consists of one game, we will watch a very tense final.
– It was alleged that you had a problem with the head coach before the "Qarabagh" match. How true is this?
– Believe me, I have no problem with the coach or anyone else. I don't know where these words come from. But there is no such thing.
– Your performance has been remarkable in recent games. Would it be right to say that you will continue with "Neftchi" next season?
– I currently have a contract with "Neftchi". Time will tell what will happen in the future. It's all God's work.
