Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported the deportation of a group of 22 people from Japan who presented themselves as players of a fake football club.
İdman.biz reports that the organizer of the scheme, Malika Waqas, took 4 million rupees (approximately 24,000 manats) from each participant, providing them with forged documents.
According to investigators, Waqas registered a club called "Golden Football Trial" and prepared forged credentials from the Pakistan Football Federation, documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and fake invitations to matches in Japan. The group members were trained to act like professional footballers, but Japanese officials quickly detected the forgery and deported the entire group.
Waqas has been arrested in Pakistan. During interrogation, she confessed that she had already smuggled 17 people to Japan using the same method in January 2024. The FIA noted that human traffickers are resorting to new tactics after increased border control.
