Italian football club "Como" has qualified for European cups for the first time in its history. Sport24.az reports that the team led by Cesc Fabregas defeated "Verona" 1:0 away in the 36th round of the Serie A.
Anastasios Douvikas scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.
After this result, "Como" reached 65 points and rose to fifth place in the standings. The team is one point ahead of "Roma", which has 64 points. However, the capital's representative has played one game less.
"Como" also retains a chance to qualify for the Champions League. Fabregas's team is only two points behind fourth place. However, the club has already secured at least a place in the European cup zone.
It should be noted that Fabregas was appointed as the head coach of "Como" in the summer of 2024. The team finished last season in 10th place in the Italian Serie A.
