Italian football club Como has qualified for European competitions for the first time in its history.
Idman.Biz reports that the team led by Cesc Fabregas defeated Verona 1-0 away in the 36th round of Serie A. Anastasios Douvikas scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.
After this result, Como reached 65 points and rose to fifth place in the standings. The team is one point ahead of Roma, which has 64 points. The capital team has played one game less.
Como also retains a chance to qualify for the Champions League. Fabregas's team is only two points behind fourth place. However, the club has already secured at least a place in the European competition zone.
It should be noted that Fabregas was appointed as the head coach of Como in the summer of 2024. The team finished 10th in the Italian Serie A last season.
