Schalke 04 striker Edin Dzeko stood out in the II Bundesliga match against Kaiserslautern (2-2) yesterday. Sport24.az reports that with this, he wrote his name in history.
The Bosnian footballer, who was 39 years, 10 months and 8 days old at the time of the game, became the oldest goalscorer in the II Bundesliga.
Previously, this record belonged to Helmut Haller, who scored in February 1979. Haller was approximately three months younger than Dzeko when he scored.
It should be noted that this was Dzeko's debut match for Schalke 04. He signed a contract on January 22, valid until the end of the current season. The striker previously wore the uniforms of teams such as Fiorentina, Fenerbahce, Inter, Roma, Manchester City and Wolfsburg.
