Andrew Giuliano, executive director of the White House's WC-2026 Task Force, has announced that the Democratic Republic of Congo national team must be isolated for 21 days due to the Ebola outbreak in the country, otherwise they risk being excluded from participating in the World Cup. Sport24.az reports that the World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
"We have made it very clear to the Democratic Republic of Congo that they must maintain the integrity of their bubble for 21 days before traveling to Houston on June 11. We have also made it very clear to the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo that they must not breach this isolation, otherwise they risk being denied entry to the United States.
We couldn't be clearer. We want to ensure that no virus enters or even approaches our territory," ESPN quotes Giuliano as saying.
