Development of football in Nakhchivan discussed at meeting of Nakhchivan Football Federation

The next meeting of the Nakhchivan Football Federation was held. Sport24.az reports that the president of the federation, Zaur Akhundov, spoke about the work done in connection with the development of football in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the meeting hall of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic stadium.

He stated that in April of this year, the Nakhchivan zone games of the Azerbaijan championship among teams of relevant age groups were held in the Autonomous Republic with the joint organization of AFFA and NFF, football competitions were regularly organized among adults in cities, districts, towns and villages in order to increase mass participation, and a new football club was created with the support of NFF.

The president of the federation also emphasized as a commendable fact that after a long break, the Nakhchivan refereeing team was appointed to the games of the national championship with the participation of teams of different age groups. It was reported that mutual work was carried out with the AFFA Referees Committee for this, courses and seminars for referees were organized in the region, and those who successfully passed the test standards would always protect justice in the competitions.

In addition, courses are organized in the region for coaches to obtain a UEFA coaching license. Akhundov also noted that the longing of football fans in Nakhchivan for "Araz-Nakhchivan" will soon come to an end. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic stadium, which reflects the history and traditions of football in the autonomous republic, will soon be renovated in accordance with international standards and will be placed at the disposal of the club and Nakhchivan football.
