West Midlands Police Crime Commissioner Simon Foster has called for an immediate review of the decision to ban fans of Israeli club "Maccabi Tel Aviv" from attending their Europa League match against "Aston Villa" in Birmingham in November.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "The Athletic".
Foster has ordered a special meeting of the Birmingham Safety Advisory Group and West Midlands Police to determine whether the decision was proportionate, necessary, justified and reasonable, and to consider possible alternatives.
"Aston Villa" club had previously banned the Israeli team's fans from attending the international tournament due to concerns about the safety of spectators and local residents.
