Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the current Premier League season, losing 1-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford. Sport24.az reports that this setback extended the Londoners' winless streak at the Red Devils' ground to 13 matches.
Nobles central defender Trevoh Chalobah stated after the match that the team needs to take its work seriously: "We didn't play well enough, and the first 15 minutes were the worst part of the season. The first half was very difficult for us. Of course, it's difficult to play with ten men, but we need to raise our standards and improve."
Chalobah himself scored in the 80th minute, helping Chelsea reduce the deficit. However, his goal did not save his team from defeat.
Chelsea's task was complicated by an early red card for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and forced substitutions by head coach Enzo Maresca.
For Manchester United, this victory is considered an important result against the backdrop of a disappointing start to the season. Chelsea, in turn, will try to respond to criticism and improve the situation in the following rounds.
It should be noted that Chelsea's opponent in the Champions League group stage is Qarabag. The match between the teams will be held in Baku on November 5.
