Brazilian national team coach Carlo Ancelotti has made remarkable statements about the team's star player, Neymar. Sport24.az reports that the Italian expert spoke about the reasons for calling Neymar to the squad for the upcoming World Cup and clarified the experienced player's role in the team.
The experienced coach emphasized that he prioritizes collective play over the names of star players and stated that Neymar is no different from other players:
"Neymar has the same responsibility as the other 25 players. He can play, he can stay on the bench, he can enter the field later. The main thing is to create a good atmosphere in the team and for everyone to perform at their best. I don't want star players. I need players who fight for the team's victory."
Ancelotti noted that he is satisfied with the current state of the 34-year-old football player and that his place in the squad is not guaranteed:
"I see that he is now playing more focused. To be clear and honest, if he deserves to play, he will be on the field."
The head coach finally added that it is not right for all attention to be focused on just one football player:
"All talent must help the team win the World Cup."
