The footballer, who plays for Monaco, underwent surgery on his left thigh muscle. The 24-year-old right-back will be out of green fields for 3 months. In this case, Vanderson will not be able to participate in the World Cup to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico in the summer.
It should be noted that another member of the Brazilian national team, Rodrigo, will also not be able to wear a uniform at the 2026 World Cup. Real Madrid's winger underwent knee surgery. The 25-year-old footballer is expected to return to the field in early 2027.
