A memorial tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the legendary football player Anatoli Banishevsky was held jointly by AFFA and the Baku Villages Football Federation.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the official website of the national association that six teams representing the villages and settlements of Baku competed in the tournament organized among children under 14.
The "Bina" team became the winner of the tournament, defeating "Ateshgah" (Surakhani) with a score of 4:0 in the final match held at the Dalga Training Center.
After the final match, the award ceremony was held. The winners and prize-winners were awarded with cups, medals and diplomas. The cup was presented to the winning team by the head of the Mass Football Department of AFFA, veteran football player Farrukh Ismayilov and the president of the Baku Villages Football Federation Vagif Davudov.
It should be noted that the main purpose of the tournament is to commemorate the memory of the late Anatoli Banishevsky, one of the bright figures of Azerbaijani football, as well as to increase the popularity of football among children and to support the identification of talented football players.
