Head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has announced that Barcelona is relying on 35-year-old Wojciech Szczęsny after the injury of Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia. According to Sport24.az, citing information from the club, the Spanish goalkeeper has been diagnosed with a torn internal meniscus in his left knee and will undergo four to six weeks of treatment.
"Joan Garcia's injury is unfortunate, but we have Szczęsny. We won three titles with him last season," Flick emphasized.
In the 2024/2025 season, Barcelona became the Spanish champion and won the national Cup and Super Cup. The Polish goalkeeper participated in 30 matches in all tournaments and kept a clean sheet in 14 of them.
