"Barcelona" has verbally agreed to the terms of a new employment contract with midfielder Fermin Lopez.
Idman.Biz reports, citing renowned journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano, that the player's new contract with the club will run until the summer of 2031.
According to the source, the player refused to leave the Catalan club in August. As part of the new contract, his salary will double.
The "La Vanguardia" publication adds that the midfielder's release clause will also double.
"Blaugrana" will announce the new contract with Lopez on January 28, after the Champions League match against Copenhagen.
Fermin Lopez is a graduate of "Barcelona". He joined the Catalan club at the age of 13 from the "Betis" academy. According to media reports, the Spanish footballer's current contract runs until the summer of 2029.
"Blaugrana" leads the La Liga standings with 52 points.
