Spanish football club "Barcelona" has filed a formal complaint with UEFA regarding the refereeing in both matches against Madrid "Atletico" in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Idman.Biz reports that the Catalan representative believes that several decisions were made during the matches that did not comply with the rules of the game. According to the club, the referees did not apply the regulations correctly, and the intervention of the VAR system was insufficient, especially in decisive episodes.
"Barcelona" management has stated that the totality of these errors directly affected the course of the games and the overall result, resulting in serious sports and financial damage to the club. The complaint letter also reiterated the demands previously sent to UEFA.
The club has expressed its readiness to cooperate with the organization to improve the refereeing system and ensure that the rules of the game are interpreted more strictly, fairly and transparently.
