Azerbaijan national team lost to Iceland (0:2)

Today, our national team will play its next match in the qualifying round of the WC-2026. Sport24.az reports that the team, headed by Aykhan Abbasov, will face Iceland in the 5th round. 

The match between the teams in Reykjavik in September ended with a 5:0 victory for the home team.

It should be noted that France is currently the leader of Group D with 10 points. Ukraine is 2nd with 7 points, and Iceland is 3rd with 4 points. The Azerbaijan national team with 1 point is in the 4th - last place. 

It should be noted that our national team will host France on November 16 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. The game will start at 21:00.
