Azerbaijan - France match: End of the World Cup 2026 qualifying round

Today our national team will play its last match within the framework of the World Cup 2026 qualifying round. Sport24.az reports that the team led by Aykhan Abbasov will face France in the 6th round.

The starting whistle of the match, which will be held at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium, will be sounded at 21:00.

Both teams will enter the field with losses. Elvin Jafarguliyev and Toral Bayramov will not be in our team, while the guests came to Baku without their main stars Kilian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga and Manu Kone. 

The match between these teams in Paris ended with a 3-0 victory for the French.

It should be noted that France is the leader of Group D with 13 points and has already secured a ticket to the World Cup. Iceland and Ukraine share 2nd-3rd places with 7 points. Our national team is the last in the group with 1 point, and it is known that regardless of the result of this match, it will finish the qualifying round in 4th place.
