"Working in the Azerbaijani national team is a great honor." Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Aykhan Abbasov, the head coach of the main national football team, in his statement to the AFFA press service.
The specialist said that he would try to justify the trust shown:
"Working in the Azerbaijani national team is a great honor and responsibility for every coach. I express my gratitude to the AFFA leadership for the trust shown in me. I will do my best to justify this trust. The national team is the pride of each of us. Both we and our football players have a great responsibility. As a team, we will try to represent our country properly both on and off the field. By uniting as one fist, we want to achieve good results with the right approach and team spirit. Azerbaijani fans have always been with the national team. Their support is a great source of motivation for us. We will try to show a decent game in the upcoming matches and give hope for the future."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team will face France on October 10 and Ukraine on October 13 as part of the qualifying round of the DC-2026.
