The players of the Azerbaijani national team will do their best in the next matches.
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by the team's head coach Aykhan Abbasov at a press conference.
The 44-year-old specialist shared his thoughts before the match with the Saint Lucia national team in the "FIFA Series – 2026" international tournament.
"The mood of the players is good. We are happy that they are in good shape. Our opponents are known. Although they are foreign teams for us, we have informed the players about them. The players will do their best on the field," he said.
A. Abbasov recalled that they faced strong opponents in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup:
"Now we want to achieve results. This tournament is very important before the UEFA Nations League matches. We will do our best to play better".
The head coach said that "Kapaz" goalkeeper Yusif Imanov may receive an invitation to the next training camp:
"We respect everyone's opinion. I can also ask why should he be invited now? Every player is important to us. Yusif Imanov's legionary career was not successful. He shows good performance in the last matches. Some teams in the championship give preference to legionary goalkeepers. Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev, who was included in the squad, shows perseverance in training. When we take a step, we also think about the next training camps. Our door is open to all football players. Yusif Imanov may receive an invitation to the next training camp."
The expert emphasized that they want to show a good game in the "FIFA Series – 2026" tournament.
