"Aston Villa" could be fined for violating UEFA's financial regulations.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "The Times".
The club is suspected of violating UEFA's squad cost rule for the second consecutive year. According to the rule, a fine is imposed if the club's player salaries, transfers and agent expenses exceed 70 percent of its revenue.
In July 2025, the Birmingham club was fined 6 million euros for exceeding the squad cost limit. This limit was set at 80 percent of the club's revenue. From the 2025/26 season, the limit has been reduced to 70 percent.
"Aston Villa"'s revenue has decreased this season compared to last season, because the club is playing in the Europa League this season, while last season it competed in the Champions League, where the prize money is much higher.
At the same time, it is noted that "Aston Villa" will not violate another agreement with UEFA regarding the club's revenues.
