Mikel Arteta is taking strict measures for Arsenal's championship. One of his rules has already hit the wallets of the players and ... pleased taxi drivers in North London.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the Spaniard has made it mandatory for all players to gather at the Kolni training ground before both home and away games. From there, the team travels together by bus to develop a sense of unity.
But this discipline comes at a price: many players are forced to take taxis all day to get to and from the training ground after the game. The cost of such a service ranges from £700 to £1000.
Ultimately, one game costs a player about £1000, and over a season this can be more than £20,000. But local taxi drivers are grateful to Arteta - in just a few trips they cover half of their weekly budgets!
