The new head coach of "Araz-Nakhchivan", Andrey Demchenko, gave an interview to the Ukrainian press and assessed his appointment to the Azerbaijani club. According to Sport24.az, the 49-year-old specialist said that there are strong teams in the Premier League:
"This is a new challenge for me. Football in Azerbaijan is developing rapidly. "Qarabag" is a participant in the League stage of the Champions League. There are also strong teams such as "Sabah", "Sumgayit", "Zira", "Neftchi". I saw good prospects for working here. It is very interesting for me to work in Azerbaijan. I was in Kazakhstan, I saw everything, I showed myself. Now it's Azerbaijan's turn. The main thing for a coach is to work so that there is no break."
The Ukrainian coach also revealed the reason for leaving the Kazakh representative "Jenis":
"We had a verbal agreement with "Jenis" that the main goal is to get out of the relegation zone. The contract was signed until the end of the season. After the end of the season, the club could either extend the contract or refuse my services - it was their right. The management chose a different option. However, I am proud of the work done by the team and the coaching staff. "Jenis" had a 14-match unbeaten streak and rose to 6th place. We could have shown even better results, but we were clearly unlucky in some games."
It should be noted that the Ukrainian specialist signed a 5-month + 1-year contract with "Araz-Nakhchivan" a few days ago.
