The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the postponement of regional Champions League matches amid escalating military conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Idman.Biz reports that the decision applies to matches scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha due to security concerns. The organization's official statement emphasized that the safety of tournament participants is an absolute priority.
"The AFC will continue to closely monitor this rapidly evolving situation. We are resolute in ensuring the safety and security of all players, teams, officials and fans," the statement said.
It should be noted that no official information has yet been provided regarding the new dates or venues for the matches scheduled for March 2nd and 3rd. Among the postponed matches are important clashes such as Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia) vs. Al-Duhail (Qatar), Shabab Al-Ahli (UAE) vs. Tractor (Iran), and Al-Wahda (UAE) vs. Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia). Other tournaments in the West zone of the competition, which includes Al-Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, have also been affected by this decision.
