The individual European Chess Championship will start on April 7 in Katowice, Poland. Sport24.az reports that 502 chess players from 43 countries are participating in the prestigious competition.
Azerbaijan will be represented by 14 chess players at the European Championship.
Aydın Suleymanli, Muhammad Muradli, Nijat Abasov, Read Samadov, Khagan Ahmad, Khazar Babazadeh, Shiroglan Talibov, Vugar Manafov, Shahin Valiyev, Umid Aslanov, Govhar Beydullayeva, Suleiman Suleymanli, Ali Zuganov and Jeyhun Huseynzade will compete in the continental championship.
The European Championship will qualify for the World Cup, which will be held next year.
It should be reminded that the continental championship is organized in 11 rounds. The competition will end on April 19.
