The final stage of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship among chess players aged 8-18 is being held at the Ganja Sports Palace.
Idman.Biz reports that the Azerbaijan Chess Federation has released information about this.
The championship is held in the 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age categories, divided into boys' and girls' categories. According to the "Criteria for the formation of Azerbaijan national chess teams and the program to support chess players" for age groups, the Azerbaijani champions will be sent to the 2026 World and European Championships in the relevant age group, and the chess players who take second place will be sent to the 2026 European Championship in the relevant age group. Since the world championship format of the 8, 10, 12 age groups has changed, chess players who achieve high results in these age groups will participate in the World Cup.
It should be noted that the competition will end on March 30.
