The XXXIII National Technical Seminar and Examination, organized by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF) and held on December 12–14, 2025, has concluded.
Idman.Biz reports that the seminar, led by Hitoshi Kasuya, an 11th dan black belt holder and world-renowned master of Shotokan karate, featured detailed presentations on the technical intricacies of Shotokan karate, modern training methodologies, as well as international competition and examination standards.
Another significant event took place during the seminar. Ulvi Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, Vice-Presidents Fizuli Musayev and Rahman Hatamov, as well as Ahmad Afandi, Chairman of the AKF Technical and Coaching Committee, were awarded a special medal by the "World Champions Club," established by the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation (WSKF).
This prestigious award was presented in recognition of the long-term and effective activities of world champions in promoting the development of Shotokan karate in our country, its promotion in accordance with international standards, increasing interest in this sport among young people, and representing Azerbaijani karate properly in the international arena.
It should be noted that about 300 athletes and coaches participated in the seminar and examination, and about 40 people raised their belt degrees in accordance with international requirements.
