The XXXIII National Technical Seminar and Examination, organized and hosted by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF), took place from December 12–14, 2025, and has concluded.
Idman.Biz reports that the seminar, led by 11th dan black belt holder and world-renowned Shotokan karate master Hitoshi Kasuya, thoroughly presented the technical intricacies of Shotokan karate, modern training methodologies, as well as international competition and examination standards to the participants.
Another notable event occurred during the seminar. The Azerbaijan Karate Federation's president, Ulvi Guliyev, vice-presidents Fizuli Musayev and Rahman Hatamov, as well as the chairman of the AKF's Technical and Coaching Committee, Ahmad Afandi, were awarded special medals by the "World Champions Club," established by the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation (WSKF).
This prestigious award was presented to these world champions in recognition of their long-term and effective efforts to develop Shotokan karate in our country, promote it in accordance with international standards, increase interest in this sport among young people, and ensure that Azerbaijani karate is worthily represented in the international arena.
It should be noted that approximately 300 athletes and coaches participated in the seminar and examination, and about 40 people upgraded their belt ranks in accordance with international requirements.
