Why Doesn't Khabib Nurmagomedov Want Islam Makhachev to Fight at the White House?

37-year-old UFC Hall of Famer and former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has stated that he does not want his friend and UFC champion Islam Makhachev to fight in a tournament to be held at the White House.

Idman.Biz reports that the tournament will take place on June 14, 2026.

"To be honest, it doesn't really matter who's there anymore. If Islam is there, it will be a big event for us. If you ask me personally, I wouldn't want him to fight there. Why? I just don't want to," said Nurmagomedov.
