How interesting is the tournament in the absence of number one boxers in various weight categories, and how do young people show themselves?
Idman.Biz addressed this question to Vugar Alakbarov, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympic Games.
"Despite the absence of many leading boxers, the championship is quite interesting. We see many bright young boxers. It is enough to look at the list of 1/4 finalists in the 60 kg weight category, where more than half of them are still yesterday's youth. Mahammadali Ashuraliyev, Mahammadali Gasimzade, Tagi Nasibov - each of them can seriously compete with the experienced Tayfur Aliyev. There are also many talented boxers in other weight categories, but I don’t want to name them yet so that the children don’t catch the eye. I am sure that in the final fights we will discover many new and interesting faces for ourselves," said Vugar Alakbarov.
