The traditional Great Silk Road international tournament among men and women boxers continues in Baku. On the second day of the competition, 4 more boxers of the Azerbaijani national team won.
In the 60 kg category, Umid Rustamov defeated Jonni Dalen (Australia). Our boxer won with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28). He will face Mahammadali Ashiraliyev (Azerbaijan) in the 1/4 finals.
In this weight category, Mahammadali Gasimzade was stronger than his teammate Hasan Hasanli – 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). The national team member will test Kaya Tolga (Turkey) in the 1/4 finals.
Tayfur Aliyev also started the tournament with a victory. Our representative surpassed his teammate Elbrus Adigozalov in the 1/8 finals – 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27). He will fight Mouates Bechegra (Algeria) in his next match.
Sabuh Alizade (+90 kg) eliminated Errahim Maqtan (Algeria) from the competition. Alizade will clarify his relationship with Alexander Shau (Australia) on the way to the final.

In the 55 kg category, Nijat Huseynov defeated Ion Plinga (Moldova) at the start. The European champion, who finished all 3 rounds in his favor, eventually won with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:26, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27).
In this weight category, Zalikhan Suleymanov eliminated his teammate Kenan Babayev from the competition. He won the second round with complete superiority. Suleymanov and Huseynov, who advanced to the next stage, became rivals in the 1/4 finals.
Mahmud Huseynov (65 kg) qualified for the 1/4 finals because Zviad Tchotchua from Georgia did not fight. He will fight his teammate Zaur Gahramanov in this stage.
Malik Hasanov (65 kg) also made it to the 1/4 finals. Our boxer was superior to Yigit Usda (Turkey) in the first match – 5:0 (29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). Hasanov will test Levan Demurovi (Georgia) in his next match.
