Three more Azerbaijani boxers have advanced to the next stage at the U-15 European Championship held in Budva, Montenegro.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the press service of the Boxing Federation that Eljan Musazade (50 kg) faced Tobias Vicenik (Czech Republic) in the 1/4 finals on the fifth day of the competition.
Our representative won his third consecutive match - 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26, 30:27). He will face Shane Kit (England) in the semifinals.
Yusif Agakishiyev (75 kg) also finished his 1/4 final fight in his favor. It took the boxer only 45 seconds to defeat Giorge Bratu (Romania). Agakishiyev, who won with a complete advantage, will face Oleksandr Tomic (Ukraine) in the semifinals.
Mehran Rasulov (80 kg) defeated Giorgi Guledani (Georgia) in the 1/4 finals – 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). In his next match, he will test his strength with Valeri Todorov (Bulgaria).
By reaching the semi-finals, all three national team members have secured at least a bronze medal for themselves. Before them, two boys and two girls boxers also won this right.
The 1/4 final fights of the European Championship will continue today.
It should be noted that the competition, which is attended by 369 athletes from 32 countries, will end on October 25. The semi-final matches for female athletes will be held on October 23, and for male athletes the next day.
