Olympic boxing champion Lin Yu-ting has been cleared to compete in women's events.
Taiwanese boxer and Olympic champion Lin Yu-ting has been cleared to compete in women's events after passing a gender test from "World Boxing".
İdman.Biz reports that this was reported on the organization's official website.
Previously, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had approved Lin Yu-ting and Iman Khalif of Algeria to participate in the women's boxing tournament at the 2024 Games. However, they failed the gender test at the 2023 World Championships under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA), showing high testosterone levels. Nevertheless, they won gold medals in the Olympics in the 66 kg and 57 kg weight categories, respectively. In February 2025, the IBA announced that it would file a complaint with the Swiss Attorney General regarding the admission of these athletes to the Games.
"World Boxing" has upheld the appeal of the Taiwan Federation regarding Lin Yu-ting and allowed the athlete to participate in the Asian Championships to be held in Mongolia from March 29 to April 10.
