The national team's preparation for the World Boxing Championship has been completed.
Idman.Biz reports that Samir Huseynov, advisor to the President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, made a statement to the organization's press service regarding the upcoming competition.
According to S.Huseynov, the national team is fully prepared for the World Championship to be organized by the International Boxing Association in the United Arab Emirates in early December.
"Our team has undergone high-level physical and tactical training under the leadership of Rafshan Khajayev," he said.
It was noted that our national team previously performed successfully at the World Championship held by the "World Boxing" organization in Liverpool in September. It is emphasized that serious competition is expected this time as well.
"Already 120 countries have confirmed their participation in the World Championship to be held in Dubai. In addition, a high prize fund has been determined - a prize of approximately 300,000 US dollars is planned for world champions. Therefore, quite intense and difficult fights are expected at the tournament," said S. Huseynov.
He stated that our young boxers will participate in the World Championship for the first time, and there are athletes aged 19-20 among them.
"Our main goal is for these young athletes to gain experience in the international arena and increase their self-confidence. I am sure that good results can be expected from them as well," he added.
Finally, it was reported that after the World Championship is over, following the national championship to be held in January, the team will start preparations for the Los Angeles Olympics with a special program.
