Sahil Babayev re-elected as President of ABF

A general meeting of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation was held with the participation of the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov. Sport24.az reports that the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, Naghi Safarov, presented a report on the work done in the federation during 2022-2026.

It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev's special attention to the development of Azerbaijani sports has allowed the country's boxing to achieve new successes. In the last 4 years, our boxers have won a total of 650 medals in international competitions, including 178 gold, 165 silver and 307 bronze. They have also set new records in several official competitions. Important steps have also been taken to increase the experience of young coaches and referees, and the material and technical base for boxing has been strengthened not only in Baku, but also in the regions.

Then elections were held for the federation leadership for the next 4 years.

Based on the results of the voting, Sahil Babayev was re-elected as the President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, Natig Hasanov and Vagif Kazimov were elected as vice-presidents, and Fuad Hajiyev and Rovshan Huseynov were elected as members of the Board.

Finally, Sahil Babayev thanked for the trust placed in him and informed about the federation's upcoming action plans.
