Rico Verhoeven, the long-time heavyweight champion of "Glory," has supported the idea of Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, to organize a fight with undefeated 39-year-old Oleksandr Usyk, the former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion from Ukraine.
Idman.Biz reports that Verhoeven is considered one of the greatest kickboxers of all time.
"This is the kind of call-out I’ve been waiting for. Undisputed vs. Undisputed. One boxing round - one kickboxing round. Let’s see if we can make it to the 12th round?," Verhoeven wrote on his social media page.
The Dutchman held the "Glory" heavyweight title for 4220 days, which is more than 11 years, and won 26 consecutive victories under the "Glory" banner as champion. Verhoeven also holds the organization's record for the most title fight wins (14).
