NHL forward Alexander Ovechkin has lost a tooth again after taking a blow to the face during a game.
Idman.Biz reports that the incident occurred during the game after a roughing penalty by St. Louis defenseman Krewyer against the Washington forward.
Although another of Ovechkin's teeth was broken as a result of the blow, the episode was not assessed as a penalty by the referees, and no penalty was called.
The incident has also caused widespread discussion on social media. Fans have protested both the hard contact and the referees' failure to intervene in the episode.
It should be noted that Ovechkin has repeatedly suffered facial and dental injuries as a result of harsh physical collisions during his career, and therefore his "hockey smile" has already become symbolic for NHL fans.
