The performance of our Taekwondo team at the World Championship held in the People's Republic of China has come to an end. Sport24.az reports that the last member of our team to compete was Javad Agayev (74 kg). He lost to an Iranian taekwondo fighter in the second fight - the 1/16 final stage.
Our team finished the competition with only one bronze medal. This success was achieved by Gashim Magomedov, who competed in the 58 kg weight category.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team was represented at this competition by nine athletes under the leadership of head coach Mammad Abdullayev. Bahruz Guluzade (54 kg), Gashim Magomedov (58 kg), Fuad Tahmazov (63 kg), Riad Shiraliyev (68 kg), Javad Agayev (74 kg), Taleh Suleymanov (80 kg), Eltaj Gafarov (87 kg), Minaya Akbarova (46 kg) and Samarrukh Osmanova (49 kg).
