The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Youth Boxing Championship was held.

It was reported that the event started with a parade of participating teams.
Speaking at the ceremony, Samir Huseynov, advisor to the president of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, said that he believes the fights will be intense and fair. According to him, the young athletes participating in the competition are the future of Azerbaijani boxing: "The young people who debuted at the Azerbaijan Championship among adults last month showed themselves from the good side and a new team was formed. Currently, we have also watched the boxers who will fight in this competition at the Azerbaijan Championship among teenagers. Each of them has great potential. All necessary steps will be taken for their further development, and infrastructure will be strengthened in the regions as well as in the capital. I believe that we will see the first performances of future Olympic champions at the U-19 Azerbaijan Championship."
Aleksandr Hamidov, the Uzbek supervisor of the competition, highly appreciated the organization of the championship and wished success to the participants of the competition.
Then the National Anthem was played and the U-19 Azerbaijan Championship was declared open.
It should be noted that at the competition held at the Boxing Center, winners will be determined in 10 weight categories for boys and 5 for girls. 276 boxers from 58 teams representing clubs from various cities and regions of the republic, as well as sports associations, participate in the championship. The fights are managed by local referees as well as foreign referees.
The names of the winners of the competition will be announced on February 15.
