Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO heavyweight belts, has stated that he began preparing for fights with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury many years ago.
Idman.Biz reports that the 38-year-old undefeated boxer, speaking to the "Ready to Fight" portal, emphasized that these matches were a target for him years in advance:
"I started preparing for a fight with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury 10-11 years ago. I even told many people that I would fight them. On one of the Ukrainian TV channels, the Klitschko brothers said: 'Listen, put the belts aside and rest.' And I answered: 'Listen, in four, maybe three years, I will fight Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.'"
"Many people laughed at me, saying it was impossible. But I told them I would do it. And I achieved it because I kept my faith. I pray to God every day. When a person works hard, God gives them a chance," the boxer emphasized.
It should be noted that Oleksandr Usyk is still undefeated in professional boxing and is considered one of the main figures in the biggest heavyweight clashes of recent years.
