The Michael Johnson vs. Alexander Hernandez fight at UFC 324 has been canceled due to suspected betting activity. Sport24.az reports that UFC President Dana White announced at a press conference that the organization received information about suspicious elements from an agency that monitors the integrity of betting.
After that, the UFC leadership decided not to hold the fight.
"We got a call and stopped the fight. I will not comment further on this topic," White said.
This is not the first incident involving suspected betting activity in the UFC. About three months ago, the Isaac Dulgarian vs. Yadier Del Valle fight also came up for a similar reason. That match was not canceled, but Dulgarian, who was considered the clear favorite, lost. Later, the UFC terminated his contract.
