Famous mixed martial artist and former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has admitted that he enjoys being a fighter more than a coach.
Idman.Biz reports that "The Eagle" had his last fight on October 24, 2020, at UFC 254, which took place on Yas Island near Abu Dhabi, UAE. His opponent at the time was interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
"I enjoy being a fighter more than being a coach because I need at least a week to get back to normal, and coaching wears me out. I have no energy, it's really hard for me because I can't relax. Because when I corner my guys, they are very close to me. I can't be in a normal emotional state when someone is trying to break their faces, arms and legs," Nurmagomedov said on the WorldSportSummit podcast.
The Russian athlete's last fight ended with a victory in the second round. This was Nurmagomedov's 29th victory in his career.
