"The first thing that came to my mind when I won the gold medal was our Anthem."
These words were said by karateka Madina Sadigova, who won a gold medal at the III CIS Games, in an interview with Baku TV.
"It was a great pride for me to hear our Anthem under our Flag there. I always wanted to experience those feelings when watching our winning athletes," she added.
Madina Sadigova said that she dedicated her success to her deceased friend: "My close friend Nihad passed away from a sudden heart attack. I couldn't be with Nihad on his last day. I was fighting the most for him in the tournament. I dedicate this medal to Nihad." She also said that she hopes to increase her medals in the future: "The gold medal was a great motivation for me. As the daughter of martyr captain Sadigov, I believe that I will go down in history."
