Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje has rejected a proposal from Paddy Pimblett, a British UFC lightweight contender ranked fifth in the 70 kg weight class.
According to İdman.Biz, Pimblett had previously expressed his desire to rematch with Highlight.
"I don't think it's going to happen. My goal is the top of the division. A rematch with Paddy doesn't make much sense. I'm focused on the guys at the top. Paddy is a talented guy, but I've fought the best lightweights of this era and he's not at that weight class yet. He still has a lot to prove. He's young and improving, but Pimblett isn't at that level yet," Gaethje told the Bloody Elbow portal.

Paddy Pimblett, ranked fifth in the UFC lightweight rankings, has expressed his desire to have a rematch fight with interim UFC champion Justin Gaethje.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to "Sportskeeda".
"I hope Justin takes the undisputed title from Ilia. Then maybe we can have a rematch, although Geethje doesn't have many fights left. I hope we can fight again in the future, because there were a few things in the first fight that annoyed me," Pimblett said.
The first fight between Pimblett and Gaethje took place on January 25 at UFC 324 in Las Vegas, USA. The fight lasted all five rounds and ended with Gaethje's victory by unanimous decision.
