Former UFC champion in two weight classes, Conor McGregor, has returned to social media after completing treatment at a clinic in Mexico.
İdman.Biz reports that the Irishman revealed he underwent therapy using ibogaine (a psychedelic drug that alters consciousness, perception, thought, and overall mental activity) to treat psychological trauma.
"I had the chance to meet with the most progressive doctors at Stanford University. It was incredibly intense and completely opened my eyes. They showed me how my death could occur, how quickly it could happen, and how it would affect my children.
God came to me in the Holy Trinity. Jesus descended from the white marble stairs of heaven and crowned me. I was saved!", the fighter wrote on his X social network account.
McGregor said he was under the influence of the drug for 36 hours and then "woke up as himself."
The Irishman thanked his fans for their support and said the treatment saved his life.
McGregor continues to serve an 18-month disqualification for violating anti-doping rules.
