The UFC tournament, scheduled to be held in Baku on June 27, is gradually beginning to take on real contours.
Idman.Biz reports that the most accurately confirmed fight at the moment is between Ikram Alaskerov and Bruno Ferreira in the middleweight division: this match has already been listed in the "Sherdog" database (a popular online platform specializing in mixed martial arts – ed.) as part of the card for the "Ultimate Fighting Championship Fight Night" tournament to be held at the Baku Crystal Hall. Alaskerov approaches the fight with a record of 17-2, while Ferreira has a record of 15-3.
In addition, another high-profile match is beginning to emerge around the Baku night. According to MMA specialized sources, Sharabutdin Magomedov may fight Mikhail Pereira. However, there is currently no official confirmation from the UFC on this. This option seems logical for Magomedov: his manager previously stated that the next fight will take place outside the United States, as the fighter has certain licensing restrictions.
Looking at the current form, both potential matches look quite interesting. Pereira won by split decision over Zakari Reese in February 2026, while Magomedov last entered the octagon in July 2025. At that time, he avenged his first career defeat with a victory over Mark Andre Barriault, bringing his record to 16-1. Ferreira, on the contrary, recently fought in one of the UFC tournaments and lost to Gregory Rodrigues by knockout. Therefore, his return in June will be an opportunity for him to redirect his career in a successful direction again.
It should be reminded that the first UFC tournament in Azerbaijan was held in June 2025, and this was the promotion's debut visit to the country. At that time, fans at the Baku Crystal Hall watched Rafael Fiziev's victory over Ignacio Bahamondes, and Nazim Sadykhov's victory over Nicholas Motta. Tofig Musayev lost to Myktybek Orolbay in his UFC debut.
